Bonjou! My name is Marissa Dearborn. Come March, I’ll be leaving D.C. to join Abel, Melissa and their son, Fabrice, at the mission house in Haiti. My family, most of my colleagues, and even some of my sisters and brothers at church think I’m crazy. If I’m being honest, there have been moments of self-doubt too. But, then, God reminds me that this is what He wants and replaces my anxiety over the world’s shortcomings with anticipation for His plans. Like the sinful woman in Luke 7, who ran to Christ to offer up her alabaster jar of perfume, I’m learning that there is no one more worthy of my future. So I’m excited to be given this season, especially to spend more time with the youth I’ve befriended in Ganthier and Cazeau. Please pray that God will use our time together to grow a deeper understanding of who He is and a greater love for His will.
